Elections in MEXICO: 2021 MIDTERM FEDERAL Elections

On Sunday, June 6, Mexican voters will go to the polls for midterm federal elections. With 94 million registered voters, these elections will be the largest in Mexico’s history and include a record number of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) candidates. It will also be the first time that Mexicans residing abroad will be able to vote online.

Unfortunately, electoral violence has been 29.5 percent higher than during the 2015 midterm elections. This has included aggression, threats, assassination attempts and homicides against candidates and political leaders.
