Iberian liberals meet in Vigo

The third edition of the Iberian Liberal Forum (ILF) was held in Vigo (Galicia, Spain) on 14-15 September.  The event was organised by the Asociación Galega pola Liberdade e a Democracia (galidem) and the Liberal Party of Gibraltar (LPG). Nine Iberian organizations participated and 19 individual participants attended the event.

Several key note speeches were delivered. Andrew Duff MEP (UK Liberal Democrats) adressed the future of Europe and proposed several ideas on how to increase democracy in the EU institutions and make them closer to the EU citizens. Marc Guerrero i Tarragó (ELDR  Vice-President) spoke on what liberal parties (and associations) have in common in Europe while Manfred Richter (Free Democratic Party and Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom) lectured on how to build a succesful political party.

The participating organisations in the event were the Asociación Galega pola Liberdade e a Democracia (Galidem), Club Nuevo Liberalismo Siglo XXI, Convergència Democràtica de Catalunya (CDC), Converxencia XXI, Friedrich-Naumann-Stiftung für die Freiheit (FNF), Movimento Liberal e Social (MLS), Partido de la Libertad Individual (P-Lib), Partido Liberal Social Demócrata, Partido Nacionalista Galego - Partido Galeguista (PNG-PG), radical.es, Union Centrista Liberal (UCL).
